A ceremony was held at the Excelsior Grand catering hall in New Dorp yesterday, paying tribute to 28 emergency service workers in honor of EMS Week.
The event featured brunch and an awards ceremony, and was hosted by Borough President James Oddo along with the Staten Island EMS Task Force. A speech was given by Dr. Glenn Asaeda of FDNY Medical Affairs. Awards were presented in the following categories: Emergency Medical Technicians of the Year, Paramedic of the Year, Instructor of the Year, and the Frank W. Geib Memorial EMT Student Award.
Pursuing a career in the emergency services is a brave and important decision. We are grateful for all EMS personnel who work hard to serve the public every day!
