The popular Greenmarket is set to reopen at the Staten Island Mall in New Springville this Saturday, June 13th from 8am to 3pm, and continue every Saturday through November 21st.
Market-goers can expect a variety of local produce, including fruits and vegetables, honey, meats, seafood, cheeses, and baked goods. There will also be cooking demos and tips offered on handling the raw items.
Caroline Hiteshew, a spokeswoman with NYC Grow, the program behind the Greenmarket, was quoted saying, "A central component of Greenmarket's mission and operations is product integrity: Everything sold at market is 100 percent farmer grown, produced, caught, or foraged."
In an effort to make sure everyone can purchase these goods, credit and debit cards, as well as WIC and food stamps are accepted at the market.
