A windy spring weekend is the perfect time to grab the kids and family and head out to Freshkills North Park for a day of kite-flying and birdwatching.
For this all-ages event, participants may bring their own kite or make one at the park. The top of the North Park at Freshkills Park offers gorgeous, panoramic views, perfect for spotting hawks returning home to their Island nests. The event is sponsored by Urban Park Rangers, Staten Island Museum, CUNY, NYS DEC, and the Staten Island MakerSpace.
This event will take place on Sunday, April 19th from 11am-4pm at 350 Wild Avenue in Travis. For more information, call (212) 788-8277.
