The Standard Burger on Hylan Blvd in Great Kills has been closed for a few months for renovations, and now we know why. The restaurant is going be featured on an upcoming episode of "The Profit," a CNBC series hosted by entrepreneur Marcus Lemonis.
The neighborhood-favorite burger joint will be delivering a new menu, including famed LaFreida meat patties, hand-cut french fries, yucca fries, and craft beer. The restaurant will also serve Crumbs cupcakes and Mr. Green Tea ice cream for dessert. In addition to the menu remodel, the building has undergone some serious design improvements. The outside, lighted logo has been revamped and streamlined, interior lighting has been replaced with a collection of solo, hanging bulbs, and the dining furniture has been updated to evoke a modern, rustic look.
Expect Standard Burger to be fully open for business within the next week or so, and their episode of "The Profit" to air sometime in May. Hours of operation are Monday to Thursday 11am to 11pm, Friday and Saturday 11am to midnight, and Sunday 11am to 9pm.
