A new merchants association has been launched to help improve more than 75 businesses within a mile stretch of Richmond Road in the areas of Grant City and Dongan Hills.

The Richmond Road Merchants Association is being jumpstarted by Councilman Steven Matteo contributing $25,000 and another $10,000 from Borough President James Oddo. This marks the fourth merchants group Matteo has started in his district.

The New Dorp Merchants Group, Victory Boulevard Merchants Association, and Midland Avenue Merchants Association have each been deemed great successes by Oddo.
