New Brighton - Staten Island, NY

New Brighton is something of a historical town on Staten Island. The town itself was incorporated as an independent village in 1866 and the Village Hall building pre-dates the formation of New York City. It consists of many Victorian-style homes which were built before the Civil War. In the early 20th century, Procter & Gamble opened a factory here which employed most of the town residents. New Brighton is bordered by St. George and Tompkinsville. Schools nearest to New Brighton are P.S. 31 and I.S. 61, with others just a short distance away in neighboring areas. There are also several public transportation options running through this area.
