New Springville is centrally located on the island, resting between Willowbrook to the north and Heartland Village to the south. The neighborhood was first founded in 1680 as Karle’s Neck Village. The area remained largely rural until the 1960s when the first department stores were being developed along Richmond Avenue. Since then, the area has exploded with residential growth, with many single and multi-family homes being built, as well as condominiums and apartment complexes. Education options for New Springville include P.S. 58, P.S. 69, I.S. 72, and the CSI High School for International Studies. The area is served by several local buses and a few express buses as well.
