Located at the Snug Harbor Cultural Center, the Staten Island Children's Museum offers a wide variety of summer activities, as well as affordable summer camp programs. When children visit the museum, they're able to become involved in interactive exhibits enabling them to explore creativity, engage themselves in a learning environment, and have fun with their peers.

Some of the exhibits feature nature, as well as the ability to explore different types of homes. Children can use their imaginations by pretending to be a pirate or a firefighter, among a number of other things. The explorer in every child shines through as children venture through the exhibits and participate in the various hands-on workshops. Children not only make educational discoveries, but personal ones as well.

The museum's hours of operation run from Tuesday through Sunday, with Mondays being their shut down day. The museum is also closed on the majority of school holidays. It's easy to remember the hours because they mimic that of the New York City Public School's schedule, and summer hours start July 3rd. The Staten Island Children's Museum has ten summer camp offerings, and they include:

Animal camp: August 20-24

Arty camp: July 23-27

Cooking camps: July 2-6

Dance camp: July 9-13

Discovery camp: July 30-August 3

Jewelry camp: July 30-August 3

Nature camp: July 16-20

Summer fun camp: August 27-31

Theater camp: August 6-10 (available to full day campers only)

Water everywhere camp: July 16-20

Fees range from $165 for a half day to $295 for a full day. A half day is defined as 9:00am until 12:00pm. A full day is defined as 9:00am until 4:00pm. Discounts are available for members of the Children's Museum. Camps are for ages four and up (some are six years and up, as well as eight years and up), and run from July 2nd until August 31st. Each camp listed is for one week at a time. Please be aware that children must bring their own food and drinks as outlined during the registration process. Because safety is everyone's priority, parents will appreciate that children will leave only with who is listed on their registration form at the time of dismissal.
