Have you participated in any of the hikes throughout Staten Island’s parks or attended an open house for summer camps or schools for your children?  If you would like to share photos from any of the events you attended, please feel free to email them to me and I will include in this week’s blog.

I love to see the snow melting and the green tops of plants popping out of the wet soil.  Now is the time to start planting seeds on your window sill to ready them for your garden when the last freeze is over.  As I write this, the weather is expected to go up to 50.  My kitty actually insisted on going outside to bask in the sun.  Is Mother Nature teasing me?  Time will tell.

March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month. Colonoscopies save lives. Don’t put it off any longer. The prep is simpler than in the past; the procedure is over before you know it.  If you don’t have someone to accompany you, call me--I will gladly take you.  Our family has a history of colon cancer, and I have witnessed how colon cancer kills if not caught in time. Do it for yourself. Do it for those who love you. JUST DO IT!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all who celebrate!  Without sounding preachy—Please don’t drink and drive—have a designated driver available!
