Last night, the Gillani Homes family had the privilege of being present at a very special event honoring Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis. The Holy Trinity-St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church held its annual gala at the Vanderbilt at South Beach, where it lauded the assembly woman for her stellar efforts after Hurricane Sandy.
Dil Gillani Broker/Owner of Gilani Homes and his wife Jasmine raved about the evening, Dil said-Â "Â It was nice to be present at this great event organized by such hard working people to honor Nicole. She is an amazing young lady who has done so much for this community."
Rev. Proropresbyter  Nicholas P. Petrooulako said- "She had been on the streets before the storm was even over- she had literally rolled up her sleeves and gone to work. She was there night and day, early and late, to ensure everyone was getting some help."
The Assemblywoman was gracious to accept the honor and thanked the church and committees responsible for the spectacular evening which featured delicious food, traditional Greek music, and dancing. Ms. Malliotakis was quick to bring the reality of the situation back to light stating that while the community has made tremendous improvements in the fifteen months since Sandy, there is still a lot of work that needs to be done.
Vivian Kokkinos, an agent here at Gillani Homes, is also a parishioner at The Holy Trinity-St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, and was happy to be in attendance at the Gala along with her husband Andreas. Â
She said- "The whole Greek-American community of Staten Island is so proud of all that Nicole has done. She is a remarkable woman and hard working politician who is passionate about her life's work. It was remarkable to see how many people came out to show their respect for her endeavors, not just from the Greek-American community but from Staten Islanders across all nationalities and business backgrounds. That's a true testament that one's hard work is truly being appreciated.”
