pools, reading underneath a tree in the park, family picnics or hanging out with the kiddies at the sprinklers. You can’t just stop exercising? Did you take a Zumba class this week or practice your Ballroom Dancing at the Social at the Y on Sunday? Did you take your children to one of the events at the many libraries on Staten Island? I know we will soon be complaining about the chill in the air, so let us enjoy our gardens and the outdoors, do a bit of weeding in the early evenings and pick those juicy tomatoes, cukes, lettuce and perhaps make some refreshing salads. If you have mint growing in your yard, pick a bunch and make iced mint tea. The family will love it!
Encourage your children ages 8-12 to participate in Tween Crochet at the West New Brighton Library, 976 Castleton Ave. on Wednesday at 3:30. This is a great skill for your child to learn; the possibilities are endless. Just think ahead to winter—mittens, scarves, booties, blankets!
