Did you attend Folk Arts: Living Traditions-A Student Exhibition at Conference House Park last week, or finally get down to writing at the Wednesday Morning Writing Group at Great Kills Library, (I know how challenging but rewarding that can be!)?  Have your high schoolers signed up for Girls Who Code Club at the DSI Tech Incubator? Did you finally admit that you want to start your own business and attended the Learn How to Build a Successful Business Plan seminar at the St. George Library?

Check out the list of Holiday/Christmas Fairs this week around Staten Island! Trinity Lutheran Church held its Annual Arts and Crafts Fair on Saturday. Following are photos from this event.

On Wednesday 11/20 at 11:30, participate in Adult Canvas Painting at the Dongan Hills Library, 1617 Richmond Rd. where the only thing you need to bring is your creativity! Every month paint something new with step by step instructions. All supplies will be provided for you. Beginners welcome! Registration is required; call 718-351-1444.

Bring the children ages 8-10 to Con Edison Family Science Night on Wednesday at 6:30 at the Greenbelt Nature Center, 700 Rockland Ave.Each month different science topics are featured and experiments provided that are designed for children and their guardians to accomplish together. Free; pre-register at sigreenbelt.org

The whole family can participate in Family Storytime/Read Aloud at Todt-Hill Westerleigh Library on Thursday 11/21 at 4. Join us for songs, rhymes, and favorite read-aloud books as we show you that storytime is fun for the whole family. Great for young children of all ages.

On Thursday at 5, attend Basic Computer Help at the St. George Library, 5 Central Ave. Are you having trouble with your email? Don't know how to cut and paste? Want to practice your computer skills? Bring your questions and learn how to figure out your technology issues! Patrons are assisted on a first come, first served basis.

Bring the kiddies to Preschool Open Play on Friday 11/22 at 10:30 at Huguenot Library, 830 Huguenot Ave.Join us for a library play date and meet other caregivers as we explore developmentally appropriate play materials in a safe, warm, and joyful environment. Extend your child’s learning through play!

On Friday, at 11, join the Adult Book Discussion: "Lilac Girls" at the Richmondtown Library, 200 Clarke Ave.

Join the Adult Puzzle Hour on Friday 11/22 at 1 at the Mariners Harbor Library, 206 South Ave. Enrich your mind and skills on the puzzles provided (word search, crossword, anagrams, etc.) while enjoying classical or instrumental music! Light refreshments will be served.

The Fall Flat 5K takes place at Willowbrook Park, 1 Eton Pl. on Saturday 11/23 at 10. This is a great scenic trail race for beginners and competitive athletes alike.  Proceeds help support the Greenbelt Conservancy’s trail maintenance and environmental education programs. Parents and children are invited to join a ranger in the Victorian parlour at Mont Sec House to listen to a Victorian Thanksgiving Story on Saturday from 10-11:30 at Ft. Learn about Living with Deer on Saturday from 1112 at the Greenbelt Nature Center in Blood Root Valley, 700 Rockland Ave. at Brielle Ave. Join Staten Island Greenbelt Conservancy and the Urban Park Rangers to learn about deer, as well as tips to follow to promote healthy coexistence with these animals. Good for all ages.

Join the Tween Book Club: "Ms. Marvel" on Saturday at 1 at the Dongan Hills Library, 1617 Richmond Rd. as you read the groundbreaking Marvel Comics international sensation “Ms. Marvel” by G. Willow Wilson. There will be a special introduction to making your own comic with Pixton. Kamala Khan is an ordinary girl from Jersey City who wants all the things the average teenager wants; to be pretty, to be popular, and to be normal. But coming from a Pakistani Muslim family, Kamala feels anything but normal and wishes she could be like her hero, Captain Marvel. Be careful what you wish for.

Attend Poetry and Prose with Staten Island OutLOUD on Saturday from 2-3 at Greenbelt Nature Center, 700 Rockland Ave.Staten Island OutLOUD celebrates Greenbelt’s anniversary with community readings from William T. Davis, contemporary Island poets, and “In the Heart of the Sea”, as part of The Big Read, a National Endowment for the Arts initiative. Good for all ages.

Stargazing takes place on Saturday from 8-11 at Great Kills Park, Hylan Blvd. & Buffalo St. One Saturday each month (except in winter), the Staten Island Chapter of the AAA hosts public stargazing in Gateway National Park, off Hylan Boulevard on the south shore of Staten Island. 

Join a park ranger for this fun, family activity--Arts & Crafts on Sunday, 11/24 at 10 at Miller Field Ranger Station, New Dorp Lane & Cedar Grove Ave.  All supplies will be provided and all ages are welcome. Call 718-351-6970 to reserve a spot.

Participate in Birding: Shorebirds and Fall Migrants on Sunday from 1112:30 at Lemon Creek Pier in Lemon Creek Park, Hylan Blvd. and Sharrott Ave.  Our Urban Park Rangers  will guide you to the best wildlife viewing spots in the urban jungle. To enhance your experience, we encourage you to bring field guides and binoculars or ask a Ranger to borrow a pair. Birding programs are appropriate for all skill levels and beginners are welcome.

On Sunday at 2 at the Noble Maritime Collection, 1000 Richmond Terr., Staten Island OutLOUD will co-host this event “Woman of the Harbor” celebrating the birthday of Kate Walker, the legendary lighthouse keeper of Robbins Reef, the little lighthouse in NY Harbor
