Good news! Staten Island Chuck did not see his shadow so that means an early Spring. I hope he is right!
Did you attend the Property Tax Exemption and Rent Freeze Enrollment Event sponsored by Senators Lanza and Savino, the Tenant, Home Owner and Landlord Resource Fair sponsored by Councilwoman Debi Rose or the Town Hall meeting hosted by North Shore Assemblyman Charles D. Fall? You, my gentle readers, have the opportunity to attend Community Board meetings, neighborhood civic organizations or any of the forums where you can make a difference and become a part of changing the issues that you may be dealing with. If you did not attend but continue to complain about everything wrong with your neighborhood, taxes, rents, elected officials, etc., I will dutifully zip my lips and say nothing more except--GET INVOLVED!
On Saturday, I visited the opening exhibit “The Short Show” at the Art on the Terrace Gallery, with participating artists Miguel Angel, Victoria Bellinger, Phyllis Featherstone, Diane Griffiths, Victor Hesson, Marilyn Kiss and Lenny Librizzi. I also had the opportunity to work with the Day de Dada Cooperative to meet the call of Dragon Mail Art 2019 by creating my own dragon while sipping Sangria and chatting with other “artists” at the Art Table Workshop. The exhibit continues through 3/10. Art on the Terrace Gallery is located at 776 Richmond Terr. and is handicapped accessible. Gallery hours are Saturday and Sunday, from 1–5. See Sunday’s listing below for the Second Sunday Spoken Word event. Visit http://sicreative.org/ and/or their Facebook page for monthly events as well as information about how you can become a part of the Staten Island Creative Community. Below are some photos from the exhibit.
