Have you participated in any of the hikes throughout Staten Island’s parks or attended an open house for summer camps or schools for your children?  If you would like to share photos from any of the events you attended, please feel free to email them to me and I will include in this week’s blog.

I love to see the snow melting and the green tops of plants popping out of the wet soil.  Now is the time to start planting seeds on your window sill to ready them for your garden when the last freeze is over.  As I write this, the weather is expected to go up to 50.  My kitty actually insisted on going outside to bask in the sun.  Is Mother Nature teasing me?  Time will tell.

Before I tell you about the upcoming events, let me remind you that Daylight Saving Time ends this weekend at 2 a.m. on Sunday 11/4. You should turn your clocks back an hour before you retire on Saturday night. (Fall Back, Spring Ahead!) Your Smart Phones will automatically adjust the time.  If you don’t want to be late or miss the events on Sunday, remember to adjust your clocks.  Also, I would be remiss if I didn’t remind you to change the batteries in your smoke or carbon monoxide detector.
