Singing is good for you and your health!  Are you ready for this weekend and the Saturday Doo-Wop Show?  On 8/15, Vito Picone and the Elegants will be singing at the Freedom Circle in Midland Beach.  Opening act will be The Expressions at 6 p.m..  This is a FREE concert.  Bring your lawn chairs, put on your dancing shoes and get ready to sing along and maybe even do a dance or two or three.

This Saturday, 2/28, girls (I prefer to call them young ladies) ages 16 to 18 years old can participate in a free day-long conference on “Girls Empowerment”.  Beginning with a light breakfast and check-in at 8:30 a.m., a who’s who of female power hitters will be speaking and leading these young ladies to explore their talents, strengths and learn from these inspirational leaders of our community.  The program will conclude with a fitness session on yoga and zumba. Was last weekend festive for you?  Did you sing along with all the holiday songs at St. Peter’s Girls and Boys H.S. Alumni Christmas Concert?  Did you join the Preservation League of Staten Island at their Holiday Party or purchase art work from the Snug Harbor Studio Artists?

OK, so it’s raining out today!  That shouldn’t put the kibosh on your plans for the weekend.  It’s supposed to clear up and actually will become “brighter”.  Tomorrow will be perfect all day so get yourself and/or the family outdoors and have some fun!
