WEEKEND EVENTS ON STATEN ISLAND (4/6 – 4/10/16)

Was a “music” event on your list of fun things to do this past weekend? Perhaps you attended the last of the Tavern Concerts or Motown at the St. George Library or “Guys and Dolls” at Susan Wagner H.S.--one of my favorite musicals.  You have another weekend to catch this wonderful musical.  Just visit  http://wagnerhightheater.org or call 718-698-4200 x 2841 for tickets and info.  We had some change of weather patterns with t-shirt warmth last Friday followed by a chilly, cold, “Wizard of Oz” kind of wind waking us and causing havoc on Saturday night. At least there was no snow!  Opening day for the Yankees was postponed till Tuesday because of inclement weather.  I hope you diehard fans bundled up because it is cold out there.

WEEKEND EVENTS ON STATEN ISLAND (WEEKEND OF 10/25-26)

If you have not done so already, this is the weekend to plant tulip bulbs!  Yes, if you are planning to list your home with me next spring or you just want to have those tulips, with their burst of color, brighten up your property and neighborhood, start planting now.  The weather will be sunny and warmer than it has been in awhile.On Saturday, 10/25, experience Raptor Day at Blue Heron Park , 222 Poillon Ave. between Amboy Road and Hylan Blvd.  The Friends of Blue Heron Park will sponsor “Wildlife in Need of Rescue and Rehabilitation” a rescue and rehab group for raptors and other animals, and will feature demonstrations and talks to show how these amazing, wild birds adapt to our environment despite their injuries.  Metro Herpetological will also be on…

WEEKEND EVENTS ON STATEN ISLAND (9/26-28)

Facing a Nor’easter today and summer-like weather tomorrow, it looks like another great weekend to enjoy the happenings on Staten Island.  How many of you went on the North Shore Restaurant Crawl last weekend?  I sampled food in 14 different restaurants, got my two miles of walking in and met a lot of nice people—both fellow foodies and owners/managers of the restaurants.  Congratulations to the North Shore Business Association for sponsoring this event!  It was a success!
