Teens ages 13-19 can participate in My Manga Universe on Wednesday at 2:30 at Richmondtown Library, 200 Clarke Ave. This workshop will teach the fundamentals of storytelling and universe-building by having participants create their own comic universe filled with its own set of moral and physical laws. This is an introduction to comics, animation and world-building as participants learn to tell stories and create characters based on their imaginings of what makes a universe work. Attend the 'Touch and Feel' Tour of the Colonial Herb Garden at the Historic Conference House Thursday from 11–12 at the Conference House Park Visitor Center in Conference House Park, 298 Satterlee St. Join the Staten Island Herb Society to learn about the many fragrant, culinary and health beneficial plants that are easy to grow and use. The garden, which is maintained by volunteers, is adjacent to the historic Conference House. The SI Herb Society is committed to preserving and retaining an authentic representation of herbs that might have been used by Native Americans of the eastern United States, and herbs commonly used in Colonial America.
