If you have listed your property with me, you know one of the first things I do is counsel you on "clutter".  My other hot button is "Curb Appeal".

Revitalizing New Dorp Lane

The newly formed New Dorp Merchants Group's mission is simple- to create an influx of shoppers in order to fill the vacancies. Once a bustling retail center, New Dorp Lane has fallen victim to competiton from popular shopping destiations like the Staten Island Mall. It is the Merchant Group's hope that more will join the fold of over ten new businesses that have opened in the past year.  The group will soon incorporate into a non-profit called the New Dorp Local Development Corporation and has big plans to set in motion.

WEEKEND EVENTS ON STATEN ISLAND (10/11-13)

Many of you will have Monday off for Columbus Day so hopefully, your weekend is planned.  If not, check out the following events.  Are you ready for------“Rome Through Richmond Town”?  In response to the cancellation of the Columbus Day Parade, this is an experiment to celebrate all aspects of the Italian-American culture.  It will take place on Saturday, 10/11 from noon till 5:00 p.m. There will be entertainment, educational and cultural displays.  Participating organizations include Casa Belvedere, The DaVinci Society, the Garibaldi Meucci Museum, the Order of Sons of Italy in America to name a few.

Staten Island's Historical Open House Weekend

Have you ever wondered what the inside of the beautiful and historic homes at Confrence House Park look like? This weekend is your best chance for a coveted peek inside. This weekend tours will be available to the public through NYC's Open House New York Weekend.

This Saturday and Sunday from 1pm-5pm, the 12th annual events offeres the opportunity to explore the inside of the Conference House, the Biddle House and the Rutan-Beckett House. Visitors can also explore the exterior of the Ward House which is not currently open to the public. In addition to then self-guided home tours, each day at 3pm a guided tour of the park will commence from the front of the Biddle House.
