The newly formed New Dorp Merchants Group's mission is simple- to create an influx of shoppers in order to fill the vacancies. Once a bustling retail center, New Dorp Lane has fallen victim to competiton from popular shopping destiations like the Staten Island Mall. It is the Merchant Group's hope that more will join the fold of over ten new businesses that have opened in the past year.  The group will soon incorporate into a non-profit called the New Dorp Local Development Corporation and has big plans to set in motion.

Have you ever wondered what the inside of the beautiful and historic homes at Confrence House Park look like? This weekend is your best chance for a coveted peek inside. This weekend tours will be available to the public through NYC's Open House New York Weekend.
