Tottenville's Conference House, also known as Billop Manor, a 300 year old historic Staten Island landmark will bring some theatrical scares this October. The house is the setting for local playwright Joe Simonelli's thriller entitled "The Haunting of Billop House" whos writing was inspired by legends of a haunted Conference House. The four character play, with the house itself serving as the fifth, will be staged in the basement. The story follows a new caretaker who is intrigued by the mysterious connection she feels to the house.

Facing a Nor’easter today and summer-like weather tomorrow, it looks like another great weekend to enjoy the happenings on Staten Island.  How many of you went on the North Shore Restaurant Crawl last weekend?  I sampled food in 14 different restaurants, got my two miles of walking in and met a lot of nice people—both fellow foodies and owners/managers of the restaurants.  Congratulations to the North Shore Business Association for sponsoring this event!  It was a success!

Last week, to greet the cooler weather, I gave you a round-up of events happening on Staten Island for the weekend.  This week I’ll share more of my favorites.
