As if we haven't already had enough of the bad weather, it doesn't look like it is going to be ending anytime soon.

According to weather.com, we're expecting approximately 1 inch of snow this Saturday, followed by frozen rain, automatically turning it into a sort of icy slush mixture! The Staten Island area is under "Winter Weather Advisory" until 8am Sunday morning. 

Homeowners - take extra care to protect your home from all the possible mishaps that can take place in such extremely cold temperatures! Make sure your windows and doors are properly sealed, your heater is working correctly, and that you have enough salt to keep the outer areas of your home from building up ice. Chain restaurants pop up everywhere - but why are they the most popular in New York City? Our friends at The Real Deal magazine have provided us with some interesting numbers.

Dunkin' Donuts has the most chain retail locations in all of New York City.

There are only 4 Zip Codes out of all 74 Zip Codes in Manhattan that contain zero chain retail outlets. Last year, the city saw an increase in chain retail stores of 2.5%. That's an incredible 185 new national retail storefronts!

Staten Island's very own Flagship Brewing Co. will start offering tours of their Tompkinsville facility beginning this Saturday, January 31st.

Flagship Brewing Co. is the only craft brewery located on Staten Island. They opened about eight months ago and, up until now, have only offered private tours of their small business. Opening up these tours to the public is a huge milestone for the growth of the brewery, as many other companies in the industry use tours like these to better connect with their customers.
